With mark making that vacillates between kinetic and controlled—and color fields both intimate and spacious, my artwork sparks a range of feelings and stories that live within me and within each of us.
Currently, my focus is creating a series of abstract expressionism portraits of black and brown women. Historically, the voices of black and brown women and girls have been ignored, disregarded, hushed, and forgotten. I'm interested in exploring and highlighting their stories, my stories, our stories through painting and mixed media collage.
